I'm a freelance writer with a focus on discipline; my goal is to bring parenting research to light. I stay up-to-date with the latest findings on child development, brain science, behavior, relationships, and parenting strategies, and I bring these results to publication in a way that is easy for parents to understand and apply to their own families. I write to translate parenting research from "an interesting idea" to a "how-to."
My work as a writer provides parents with new tools for their parenting toolboxes, as well as helps families develop respectful, connected relationships with each other. Successful discipline is more about working with children than doing things to them, and my writing informs parents how they can accomplish this. I write to show that moving from power struggles to family harmony is infinitely valuable, emotionally fulfilling, and absolutely possible.
“Kelly Bartlett’s writing
articulates the essence of respectful
parenting. We need her voice in the media to help educate parents on
long-term, effective, enjoyable discipline. This is what it’s all about.”
